Rate bands

Pick a band, not a negotiation.

Rates are fixed and legible for makers — no haggling, no lowball bookings. Choose the band that matches your experience when you set up your profile; makers see it before they ever book.

The commission

RubberDuck keeps 25%. You keep the rest.

The maker is charged your list rate, to the second. RubberDuck retains a 25% platform commission from the tokens consumed; the remainder is your gross earnings, paid out via Stripe Connect after a short hold window to cover disputes.

Why engineers stay

Built for people who won’t tolerate a clunky booking flow.

Flexible, in small chunks

15 to 30 minutes at a time, whenever your evening has a gap. No shifts, no minimum hours.

You see it before you accept

Every challenge is visible before you commit. Decline what isn't your specialty — it re-opens to matching.

Paid out properly

Stripe Connect handles KYC and payouts. Earnings appear the moment a call ends, cleared after a short hold window.

Getting approved

Five steps from application to first booking.

Vetting exists so makers can trust whoever they’re matched with. It’s a real review, not a rubber stamp — but it moves fast.

  1. Apply

Tell us about your experience, your specialties, and which rate band fits your seniority.

  2. Build your profile

Bio, years of experience, specialty tags and work examples — portfolio links, GitHub, live apps, or screenshots.

  3. Get reviewed

An admin checks your profile and work examples, sometimes with a short intro call, then approves or tells you what's missing.

  4. Set availability & connect Stripe

Declare recurring weekly slots and block dates you're away, then complete Stripe Connect onboarding for payouts.

  5. Accept your first booking

See the challenge, the category and the maker's preferred times before you commit to anything.

Ready when you are

Turn spare evenings into paid expertise.

Applications are reviewed by a real admin, not a queue you'll wait weeks for.
